Vrooom......2008 F1 begins!

Today is race day and it keeps to tradiotion or more like F1 preference that the frts stop will be in Australia.... I can't wait to see the race but frankly speaking, I am loosing a lil touch of F1. Few factors such as no Astro and less time to update myself with F1 news.... (I used to surf the Interact in office for updates, but now, hardly touch it....)

Worse is, this year, RTM 1 is going to host it and my area reception for RTM1 is worst... all I see is snow... sigh.....

Ok, enuf rambling about it..... I will watch it, and read the news from the Formula1 official site.

Updates on pole position: Kimi not doing good , Hamilton first and Alonso.. ke ke ke... 11 but he's back with Renault... Heard tat BMW is doing vy well... so, this yr is going to be another exciting yr to see who wins the championship....

Oh, Shell has the Ferari model car to be purchased and I can't wait to get the entire collection of it (hopefully)

2007 F1 World Champion - Kimi !!!

Yes!!! Kimi won the race and the world championship title. It was very narrow for him and frankly speaking, if Hamilton has not suffered the lost in the start of the race, I dun think Kimi got the chance to grab the world champion title. Anyway, me & Gerald are way too happy for this.....
More over, the race in Brazil are dominant by Ferarri from the start. Massa & Kimi's car are practically flying throughout the race and because Kimi's car got more fuel than Massa, hence he overtake him during his pit stop and it's really a good strategy by Ferrari.

Hungary Qualifying

This is the latest news from F1 for yesterday qualifying. I gave up hope but then Gerald buzz me awhile ago if I have read the latest F1 news. Whoa what's so good in the news that I need to feed my eye on... hence, I went to the official site and although Ferrari doesn't get pole position yesterday (Massa's car having problem and Kimi's is just at 4th place), this is indeed a good news to the Ferrari fan (esp me coz I don't fancy Alonso so much, he's too cocky previously).

Alonso has been demoted (yes, you read correctly *smirk*) by the steward to 6th place coz he's found guilty in impeded Hamilton during qualifying. Dunno if it McLaren gave instruction for Alonso to say in the pit longer (which the steward dun buy the excuse) or he did it on purpose (who want to loose to a rookie, rite?), McLaren will not be eligible for constructor point (they are appealing now).

Nurburgring F1 legend - Michael Schumacher

I can't believe I missed the race in Nurbrgring last Sunday even though the show time is at 10.30pm (I choose dreamland than race day *slap forehead*). I still can't forgive myself for missing the race and that particular race is the most exciting (coz it rains & lots of accident/car retired). So, what I can do were to read all the news I can from F1 official site and also BAT intranet (my office's news, we got a dedicated column for F1).

Since everyone will know by now that Alonso won that race, Massa 2nd & Webber 3rd while Kimi retired & Hamilton is 9th after he narrowly escaped injuries caused by the front tyre on Saturday's qualifying (Alonso is lucky to got away with it though), I shall talk about the legend of Nurburgring - Michael Schumacher (I am a big fan of his :p ). This bits of info is extracted from Formula 1 official site.

I am so happy that Michael has been honoured by the German circuit with a corner named after him, which is the Schumacher S (he won 5 races out of 11 races at the Nurburgring, & I think that is so awesome). So, here's the 5 races he won in the Schumacher racing history :
  • 1995 European Grand Prix Qualifying: 3rd, Race: 1st
  • 2000 European Grand Prix Qualifying: 2nd, Race: 1st
  • 2001 European Grand Prix Qualifying: 1st, Race: 1st
  • 2004 European Grand Prix Qualifying: 1st, Race: 1st
  • 2006 European Grand Prix Qualifying: 2nd, Race: 1st (the last of his race, sad to say but he is the champion of F1)

Ferrari's win back to back

It's good news for me for the Silverstone F1 race. Kimi manage to win the race (1st ever win in Silverstone) & Massa managed to climb up to 5th place after some problem during the start & needs to start from pit. This is not an easy fight for them as because :
  • Kimi was 1st but managed to overtake by Hamilton , then by Alonso but finally managed to got back into 1st place during Alonso last pit stop (very 'kan cheong' here)
  • Massa's car stalled during start, so he dropped from 4th place to start to last but because he's such a good driver, managed to climb back to 5th place

So, the championship standing for the top 5 is as below:

  1. Lewis Hamilton
  2. Fernando Alonso
  3. Kimi Raikkonen
  4. Felipe Massa
  5. Nick Heidfeld

2nd day in Singapore

Backdated post on Sg Trip

After a tiring Friday that is full of sightseeing (Zoo & Night Safari), we had a shopping session on Saturday. Well, the plan is to get up in the morning & head to Orchard right away (no breakfast coz we plan on an early lunch @ Tony Romas).

Why Tony Romas? This is because they serves pork & their ribs are what they're famous for. Since we know that their serving is hugh, we ordered 1 starter (baked potato skin with bacon chips, cheese sticks & chicken wings), 1 Tony Romas rib sampler (12 ribs) & 1 Tony Romas baby ribs (12 ribs). Ther serving is really large & it's just nice for 4 of us since Faythe still sleeping on her stroller. As for dessert, we had the Chocolate Avalanche (Faythe wallop almost all & I love the way she eat it (^-^) . You can check it out at Jazz's site).

What follow next is the Moonlight Hippo but we missed it coz the tour started at 6pm instead of 6.30pm (we rushed like mad to get from Orchard to Suntec City, so it's a big dissapointment). We are so tired , rested in front of the musical fountain in Suntec while thinking on what to eat.

Too lazy to go find the directory, so we decided to have the folowing for dinner:

Yes, what you see is correct. Had soup ( clam chowder & mushroom soup), breads with vinegrate & salad for dinner. The servings of soups are very big while the breads are free flow and there're a few choices for the bread.

After we filled our stomach, we walk to Marina Square and I think God pitied us so he let us catch some fireworks while we're on our way to Marina Square before we called it a day ( Got to prepare for the next day's picnic some more).
Note : All photos were taken by Jazzmint coz my camera was left to charged

Ferraris are back!!!

The race in Magny-Cours are great. This is because Ferrari won the race with 1-2 podium finish and it has been a long time that I ever see that. The race started with Kimi in 3rd position while Massa 9almost always) in 1st position and 2nd start position is Hamilton. This round, Hamilton didn't manage to get pass Massa & the best part (for Ferrari) is, Kimi managed to over take him at the start of the race. Maybe he did some mistake but that Ferrari 1-2 position stayed till the end of hte race (way to go, Ferrari!!) Kimi managed to get 1st place was because his car has got more fuel than Massa on the 1st pit stop, hence, he can stay in the run longer.

What happened to Alonso? He he.. he's way behind Heidfeld and stayed behind him for quite some time. This is because Heidfeld has some great defence move that is very hard to overtake... Great job Nick ;) You can check the results here.

Ok, enough of my point of view and if you want to know more of the French Race @ Magny-Cours, head over to the official F1 site. They have great photos as well ;)

Not fast enough

I almost have a heart attack when all my TV channel gone & just alot of 'snow' when I came back from dinner last night at 11pm. IOf all day, it happened last night & after nearly 2 hours of testing & asking neighbours, we came to conclusion that it is due to the antenna at the roof top. So, we quickly & frantically find a temporary antena to stick behind the TV & manual tune it to get RTM 1. Thank God that by 1am, it's ready & the race in Indianapolis almost starts.

Ferari didn't win the race but I am glad that Massa did his best & Kimi, dunno what happened to him on the start of the race... his car looks like no power & over take by 2 cars to 6th place. Anyway, I am glad that they manage a 3rd & 4th place in the end. Ferari must do something in order to win the constructor title again. Been 2 years since they won anything.

As for the race, generally, accidents only happens on the 1st lap and Sato was pinalised for some mistake. The best part of the race is where by Alonso tried to overtake Hamilton. It's so close but in the end, Alonso not successful *LOL* , Hamilton is just too fast for Alonso to cathc up and he's making no mistake in every race.... Looks like we got a new champion emerging in F1 and a very young one as well...

Indianapolis qualifying session

I can't belive that I am up to see the qualifying session. Normally by now, I would have knock out & in slumberland. I guess the little nap that I took till my hubby buzz me at 11pm does help me stay awake. I hope I will be awake tomolo at this time, but I doubt I would. I need to keep myself busy in order not to fall asleep, hence, I multi task in between F1 qualifying race, msn-ing with hubby & frens & blog reading *LOL*

Ok, updates on the pole position for tomolo's big race (oops, already sunday now in KL *LOL*)

  • Maclaren 1st & 2nd (Hamilton, Alonso)
  • Ferari 3rd & 4th (Massa, Kimi)
Sad to say that it's not the other way round but it seems tat Ferari's car is quiet heavy with fuel(tat's wat I hope), hence the slower time. One thing for sure, Hamilton is really good... he's so fast in every run he tooks.

A race full of suprises in Canada

Ok, before the race in USA start, let me talk about last week's race. I was supposed to blog about it but was too busy missing my hubby :p

The race at Montreal on 10th June 07 was an interesting race but I missed it. Have to forego the race coz Gerald is going back tat early morning to Doha and we have to leave the house by 3am. Sad to say, Ferari didn't get any podium on that day but at least Alonso also has his bad luck and only manage to get pathetic 7th place(me no fans of him *LOL*).

The race was full of accidents and all also at the same chichane and the worst of all is Kubica's car and thank God he only suffer minor injuries. You will be shocked when you see his car (practically smashed and only left back the driver part & 1 wheel). And because of that, safety car was deployed and Massa was given a black card (coz came out from pit during red light, new rules when safety car is being deployed, you cannot go to pit n refuel *stupid*). Sigh.... there goes Ferari chance and Kimi only manage a 5th place. Nevertheless, I am glad that Hamilton won the race. Click here for the results of last week's race & for more news on this race, click here.

Formula 1 ~ Bahrain Race

Been waiting for this race and all of a sudden, RTM 2 decided to cancel the live telecast and postponed until 1am on 16.04.07. Nevertheless, I manage to watch it tru the webcam of my hubby's tv in Doha.... Yup, it's tru MSN webcam and Skype although not very clear, but the sound is vy clear with Gerlad being my broadcast ( ^-^)

This time, Massa have pole position again and Kimi is 3rd with Lewis Hamilton & Alonso 2nd & 4th. So, I am very 'kang cheong' on the start of the race. Scared that Alonso will cut tru Massa & Kimi. Anyhow, Alonso did manage to overtake Kimi to 3rd place but on the 1st pit stop, Kimi is back to 3rd place.

As for hte 2nd pit stop, we are happy too early b4 Lewis pitted. Tot that Ferari will have 1,2 position but Lewis is really good. He manage to over take Kimi and back to 2nd place.
End result was Massa 1st, Hamilton 2nd & Kimi 3rd (Yeah!!!) .... So, wat happen to Alonso.... ke ke ke... he kena over take by Nick Heidfeld and he is 5th place *LOL* I never like him much tat's y so happy....

So, in the end, I am left with eagerness to watch the rerun at 1am but my eyes won't cooperate with me, so, was asleep after 15 mins into the race. Nevertheless, Kimi is tied with Hamilton & Alonso now..... the next race will be very exciting and also 2007 F1 race is more interesting now : )
