BAT BOB Dinner

Backdated post

Year end is always pack with fun activities and dinner party. These year is the same for my company. Just 2 weeks after my teambuilding in Langkawi, we had our final Zone 3 Meeting and annual Best Of the Best Award Dinner. What's different for this time was the event of the Zone Meeting. Instead of indoor activities, our organiser decided to do a twist and had it outdoor and the venue is out of KL but not too far - Bangi Equatorial Hotel.

For people like me, the outdoor activities really burn all my energy and also my skin.... you can see the 2 tone arm of mine here and 1 of my colleagues face is as red as cooked lobster!!! I had no photo of the activities coz am too busy with participating and not getting electrocuted, wet and concentrate in doing the best Mexican wave railway station; not to mention being the protoplasmic hand of the amoeba. It's fun but it's too hot.... we didn't manage to finish the games coz rain decide to join in the fun at 4pm.

So, we check into our day use room, rest and prepare for the BOB dinner. Though it's not as posh as the year before (we had it in Sunway) but the people do make the difference. We manage transform ourselves from sporty look to gala dinner. The food is ok only so, we decided to go out snap photos. Here're some photos of that night......

The Driversity Hunt

I am back from a very tiring treasure hunt - Driversity Hunt. Not only am I tired but I faced my fear and also got sun burned on a very hot Saturday. Meanwhile, I am still collecting all the photos taken during this event and post it up (with some thoughts of mine) later of the week. Here's the final product of our treasure hunt - palm prints of all participants....

Gearing up for Treasure Hunt

It's friday and after 1 whole week busy with work stuff, I'm finally gearing up myself for tomorrow's treasure hunt. One thing good in my co. is that we have this yearly hunt organised for the staff. We just need to pay some registration fee which is around RM200. It's really a good deal coz after you divide into 4 people, I just pay RM50. What I get back from there is a night stay at a hotel, enjoy myself and the chance to win the hunt - prizes....
This year, we are heading down south to Johore and it's a driversity hunt - a combination of diversity, driving and treasure hunt. But the worse part of this hunt is to wake up early in the morning ..... have to be at office by 6.30am and will flag off at 7.30am and it takes 9 hours to complete the hunt. What differ this year is that it's a combination of amazing race, fear factor and treasure hunt *Whoa!!!!*. I hope I won't pengsan by the end of the hunt.... and also not to get dark coz now I got 2 tone arm *sob sob* (thanks to my Langkawi team building and also Zone Meeting).
Ok... I shall cross my finger to win the hunt....

Happy Birthday to ME

It's my birthday today and I am having cupcakes as my birthday cake this year. A little special things that I get for myself from Cupcake Chic on Sunday (though I ordered it way before that). Since Gerald is not around, I just get this for fun & the very obvious reason of it looking good in my blog *LOL*.

BBGS tea party : a sneak of the event

BBGS cupcakes by HBB : Look at the cute pinafore & badge

It's really a busy weekend for me coz I got another gathering for today(organised by Marisa) & it's the event of the century (coz we never met up after Form 5) and all BBGSians are scattered all over the world but me still very much in KL *LOL*.

Since it is such a special event, I ordered 1 box of mini cupcakes from Happy Belly Bites with the theme 'BBGS Class of 95' & provided her the school badge (vy proud of it) to be made into edible cupcakes *wink*. The masterpiece is so pretty (look at the cute uniform & the badge) and too good to be eaten & everyone was so awed by the great art. Hence, the cupcakes made its way into becoming the center piece *LOL* of the table.

This is just a bit of the much awaited event and I need to gather all the photos before I made the full post of the event (hope it won't take a long time).

Opps, forgot to mentioned that Jazzmint bought this fabulous cake for me & the gang sang a b'day song to me during the gathering (coz she mentioned to Marissa about my b'day is tomolo).

My birthday cake : Chocolate Pavlova thanks to Jazzmint.

Girls Nite Out - a pleasant surprise awaited

I had such a good time on Saturday with my gang (all girls *wink*) in Marche and the above photos are the end of the good time. We went for dinner at Marche Movenpick in the Curve and eat our heart out. We ordered : Cheese Fondou, Rosti with veal sausage, Seafood risotto, Vegetarian pizza, Sauteed mushroom, Seafood spaghetti, Salad, Salmon steak, Lamb chop, Mushroom soup, Mixed fruit Crepe & juices. Can you believe that 6 girls can eat that much? By the end of the chit chat & makan session, we were so full but very satisfied. We made our way out to pay the bill around 9.30pm and the dinner cost RM 314 (baru we realise we ate a lot)....

This gathering was all thanks to Hong Eng coz she actually gathered everyone and gave me & Kek Yee a pleasant surprise. It's a birthday treat for both of us & it's sort of our gang's tradition to do it for everyone *Smilling from ear to ear*

A very big thank you to Bee Li, Fai Lai, Fai Mei & Hong Eng for the wonderful & joyful birthday treat.

BAT GSD KL Staff day & BTA Graduation Dinner

Pheww..... I can't imagine driving into madness every morning & I really do not hope to do it again. Why I say that? This is because the BAT GSD event was held in KL Hilton & it was stated in the e-mail that the event will starts at 8.30am. So, there I was, waking up at 7.15 am & went out of the house at 7.35 am to try my luck in the 4ever madness of KL traffics during the rush hours. Dunno if I'm lucky or not, I managed to arrived at the hotel at 8.50 am.... just in time for breakfast *LOL*

As usual, we have some serious opening speach by Dominic (our BIG boss) before proceed to the fun part of the meeting. Today's theme was based on movies, so, we had 4 Acts that delivered Process, Strategy, Prioritisation & People messages that are the important ingredients in GSD. Beside the Acts, we had Games that were based on People, Cost, Volume & Quality. One thing good in our Zone Meetings, we incorporated the messages, informations & learning in the games. Hence, it's never a boring Zone Meeting ....

Lastly, the main event of the night was the BTA Wave 2 Graduation and dinner (another play done by BTA Waves 2). The BTAs even gave out door gift to everyone & also not to be missed are the boxes of cigarettes carried by BAT on the tables, nicely laid out for us to consume (smokers haven , but I will go crazy over the nicely designed box... hence, I took some back *LOL* )

I must say that I enjoyed it very much although it's very tiring. It's worse than working in the office coz today I started my day at 7.15 am till 9.30 pm, with no rest in between.

P.S. - I managed to snap alot of the photos & will post it up this weekend.... Do come back & have alook at the wonderful event done by BAT GSD ; )

BAT GSD KL Staff day

Well, today is the long awaited event for BAT staff. It's the KL Staff day and we are having it at KL Hilton (must be very nice since it is a new 5 start hotel). Not sure what's the activities but it's going to be another fun event just like the BAT Zone 3 Meeting that was held in Feb 07. I heard that it's got heme like Formula 1 *yeah*. Will definately bring my camera & snap as many photos as possible. I will be at KL HIlton from morning till evening and there're going to be the BTA Graduation dinner as well. So, if you want to know more about this, stay tuned to my post ...

I must say that working in British American Tobacco GSD is the best choice I ever make (^-^) & hopefully my stay in this company will not be a short one.

Farewell to Mary-Joe

Farewell to Joe, for he's leaving my team to be based in Hamburg for a short period of time. He will be flying off now and I must say, his presence in the team is really great.....

We had a farewell dinner last night at Pizza Uno, Bdr Puteri Puchong. It's really a nice place for dining. Their food is great & they served alot of imporeted beers & juices. We had pizzas (thin crust), pastas, garlic bread, meat, fish & desserts (not the typical type). Not to be left out were the drinks. I had Alfagato, Sangria & in the orders were also Victoria Bitter, Hoegarden & Alfagato with liquoer.

And this is the 3rd time I didn't bring my camera out *Slap head* but managed to capture some with Jaspreet's camera. Will get from here and will post some shots of last nite scenes.

Oh, not to forget to mentioned, I thought that the nite is still young coz the sky still bright. But I was tricked coz wat I thought was natural day light was the lighting from all the shops. By the time Manpreet told me it's already 9pm, I was so shocked *LOL*.

British American Tobacco Diversity Cookout Session

How stupid can I be? Of all days, I forgot to bring my camera to work today & this is the day that I am waiting for to snap off all the lovely foods from different countries that were prepared by chef non others than BAT colleagues....

This is the Diversity Cookout day.... & I forgot to bring the camera *Slap head*

Basically, BAT launched the Diversity programme where by, they promote hanging around with different people in the office or during our lunch time. What's better to kick out this event than luring all the great chef in BAT to show us their countries cuisine *Drooling* and I must say, I love all those foods very much until I tapau Adam's (Poland) soups - 3 different kind of soups that taste fantastic. Not to forget to mentioned is the lovely finger foods from Ailton (Latin America) and many more...

I must hunt down the photos and blog a more detail post later .......

Bowling Time!

Backdated post

On 16.05.07, my team went for a Bowling Session - Team Building @ Midvalley with our leaders from EUS team that came down to KL for a meeting.

This is my 1st time bowling since school days (tat time also just 1 or 2 times only). I am not a sports fan, I'm more to shopping exercise *LOL*.

Had a great time not only in the games but also the drinks (not me, but most of them).

As for my score, he he... quite satisfied with what I scored. First game is 46 & second game is 68 .... & I am more to dumping the ball on the lane than throwing it *ke ke ke ke*

B.A.T. Zone 3 Meeting

I took leave from 26.02.07 until 01.03.07 except 28.02.07. This is because my company got zone meeting & it's really not to be missed. This time, we had it at the KL Convention Center with the theme Olympic. This is my 1st time to go there, and almost got lost coming out from the building.

We had 6 games and lots of booth counter with prizes to win and also freebies. I got GSC movie voucher, 1 tumbler, note pad, big lolipop candy and lots of food to eat. Buffet lunch was served and there's also buffet dinner. But I skipped the dinner and had it with Gerald (limited time) he he he.....

Games that we had: Budhapest basketball, African Rally, English Tea Relay, Mount climbing, Gymnastic Dance & Singing contest (PS2 games)......

For the above scrap, I used MissMint Playground Pop words, 2Peas Love Me font and Shabby Princess Shabby Mommy Papers.

Company Treasure Hunt

I feel lucky when joined the new company. Within 3 months, I attended the Zone meeting cum Gala Dinner in October and in Dec, my company is having a treasure hunt. The best part is, it is at Langkawi. Yup, everything is included, food, transportation & hotel. But it's just a 2 days 1 night trip. All I have to pay is RM75.

We depart on 1-12-06 nite from BAT by coach and reached the jetty in the morning on 2-12-06. The hunt started at 9.30am and finished at 3pm. We are divided into team of 4 and my team is Team 6. We have to drive all over the island to look for clues and hte best part is, they are doing the Amazing race style. So, we got stuck at Oriental Village looking for clues and answer. But we manage to finish it by around 2pm. We didn't win anything but I m lucky to get a lucky draw prize (MP3 headphone).

After that, I checked into the hotel room (Holiday Villa) with my room mate, Poh Lin and we went out at 4pm to Kuah town with Mei Yin, Wai Teng, Gajana to get some souveniers. As for me, my goal is to buy chocolates. Lots & lots of dark chocolates.

Later that nite, we had dinner. It was tiring and both of us slept around 11pm. We have to check out at 10am & depart to the jetty (another round of shopping).

It's a bit rush, but I had a great time there. Planning to go with Gerald in June for our long awaited honeymoon cum 2nd yr anniversary.
